GENERAL & PROGRAM

Hope for Humanity Worldwide is a faith-inspired nonprofit organization committed to improving community well-being through international outreach missions, community partnerships, volunteer service, health education, and humanitarian relief.

HHW has served communities across the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States through humanitarian outreach.

Depending on mission needs, services may include medical, public health literacy, oral health resource distribution, vision support initiatives, community well-being support, and logistics and supply deployment.

Hope for Humanity Worldwide has been serving communities since 2011.

VOLUNTEER ELIGIBILITY

No, absolutely not! HHW welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds, skills, and professions. Our international outreach initiatives require a large team of dedicated individuals to succeed.

We welcome a diverse group of passionate volunteers on our international missions! We organize our teams into specific outreach focus groups, and we are looking for individuals with experience in the following areas: Public health & wellness educators, Mission logistics & supply coordinators, Oral health program assistants, Vision program assistants, Community support & translation volunteers, Students and general field volunteers.

Yes, absolutely! We highly encourage students to join our humanitarian missions. Participating in our short-term expeditions offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in global community development and relief logistics. We regularly welcome: Public Health & Global Health Students, International Development & Social Work Students, and General Field & Service Students.

Volunteers are generally expected to be at least 18 years old. Younger volunteers may be considered when traveling with an approved parent or guardian.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Start by completing the volunteer interest form on the HHW website. Our volunteer team will review your information and contact you regarding next steps.

Our volunteer team reviews your application. Qualified applicants may then be contacted for an interview and invited to continue onboarding through Mission Ready Hub.

Review times vary depending on the mission, applicant volume, and volunteer needs.

Many volunteers complete a short interview so our team can learn more about their experience, interests, and potential mission role.

TRAINING & PREPARATION

Yes. Volunteers receive mission-specific orientation covering expectations, travel, cultural awareness, safety, teamwork, and mission operations.

Absolutely. Many HHW volunteers are first-time participants. Our leadership team will help guide you through the preparation process.

Accepted volunteers receive a mission-specific packing guide before travel.

Travel-health requirements vary by destination. Volunteers should review current destination requirements and consult an appropriate healthcare professional when necessary.

TRAVEL & LODGING

Yes. A valid passport is required for international missions.

Airport transportation arrangements are communicated with accepted volunteers before travel.

Lodging varies by mission and may include hotels, guesthouses, retreat centers, or other approved accommodations.

HHW coordinates approved mission-related ground transportation according to the mission itinerary.

SAFETY & SUPPORT

Volunteer safety is an important part of mission planning. HHW works with mission leaders and local partners to coordinate transportation, lodging, schedules, and operational procedures.

Mission leadership provides emergency instructions and support. Volunteers should immediately contact their mission leader if an emergency occurs.

Whenever possible, HHW partners with local healthcare providers, hospitals, ministries, and community organizations.

COSTS & FUNDRAISING

Mission fees vary based on destination, accommodations, transportation, mission duration, and other trip expenses.

Yes. Volunteers may raise support through family, friends, churches, employers, and community organizations.

Eligible charitable donations to Hope for Humanity Worldwide may be tax deductible as permitted by law.

Please contact HHW before collecting or transporting medical supplies. Supplies must match mission needs and applicable customs requirements.

DURING THE MISSION

A mission day may include team briefings, volunteer orientation, public health education, community outreach initiatives, logistics and supply coordination, and team debriefing.

Expect meaningful service, teamwork, flexibility, cultural learning, and opportunities to build relationships with fellow volunteers and local communities.

Our community well-being initiatives focus on educational workshops, emotional wellness support, and supportive resources when qualified volunteer leaders and materials are available.

Every role contributes to the mission. Health education, field registration, resource logistics, community encouragement, and compassionate service all help create meaningful impact.

AFTER THE MISSION

Absolutely. Many volunteers return for future missions.

You can donate, fundraise, sponsor mission needs, volunteer locally, share HHW's work, pray for our teams, or become a partner.

Many volunteers describe the relationships formed during missions as one of the most meaningful parts of the experience.
